This position assists with maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable regulatory requirements, and providing accounting support as needed. The Accountant regularly interacts with employees, management, vendors, financial institutions, auditors, and regulatory agencies and is expected to maintain a high level of professionalism, accuracy, and confidentiality.
Reports To:
VP of Finance Essential Duties and Responsibilities Process accounts payable transactions, including invoice review, payment processing, vendor maintenance, check requests, manual and voided checks, and related documentation in accordance with company policies and procedures. Perform cash, bank account, and corporate credit card reconciliations and investigate discrepancies as needed. Maintain records related to recurring expenses, leases, vendor information, W-9 documentation, and other financial obligations to ensure accurate records and timely payments. Coordinate annual Form 1099 preparation and reporting, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations. Process employee and physician business expense reimbursements in accordance with company policies and procedures. Assist with general ledger maintenance, including preparing and posting journal entries, performing account reconciliations, and maintaining supporting schedules and documentation. Prepare financial reports, analyses, and audit support documentation as requested by management. Assist with maintaining accounting records related to contracts, leases, licenses, taxes, fixed assets, and other organizational obligations. Communicate professionally with vendors, employees, financial institutions, auditors, and regulatory agencies regarding accounting-related matters. Maintain the confidentiality and security of financial, employee, patient, and proprietary business information. Perform other accounting duties, special projects, and responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required. Experience Minimum of two (2) years of accounting, accounts payable, or related financial experience. Experience with account reconciliations, general ledger functions, and financial reporting preferred. Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Word. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge Basic understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Knowledge of accounts payable processes, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and general accounting practices. Skills Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy when processing financial information. Effective interpersonal and customer service skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other business software applications. Abilities Ability to prioritize work, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment. Ability to research, analyze, and resolve accounting-related issues.
Work Location and Schedule Primary Work Location:
Laguna Hills, California Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional travel to other company locations may be required during normal business hours. Physical Requirements The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of the position: Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer. Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing and operating office equipment. Ability to communicate effectively in person, by telephone, and electronically. Occasional standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting of up to 15 pounds. Work Environment Work is performed primarily in a professional office environment with a moderate noise level. The employee regularly uses standard office equipment, including computers, telephones, printers, copiers, and other office technology.
