Jeff Abrams is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant for his client to support fund accounting, valuation analysis, and quarterly reporting for a venture capital environment in California. This position plays a key role in reviewing financial activity, maintaining accurate records, and helping deliver timely reporting to internal stakeholders, investors, and auditors. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, sound judgment, and the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly.
Responsibilities:
  • Conduct quarterly fair value assessments for portfolio investments by applying accepted venture capital valuation approaches and preparing clear supporting documentation.

  • Support the quarterly close process through review of financial statements, partner reporting, and other recurring fund deliverables for accuracy and completeness.
  • Contribute to the preparation of annual and interim audited financial statements and compile schedules requested during the audit process.
  • Examine capital call and distribution allocation calculations to help ensure transactions are recorded and allocated correctly.
  • Oversee cash activity by reviewing reconciliations, evaluating funding requirements, and assisting with capital planning.
  • Provide guidance and day-to-day coaching to fund accounting team members to strengthen performance and support ongoing development.
  • Respond promptly to limited partner questions and prepare documentation needed to address external auditor requests and other ad hoc reporting needs.
