$75,000
•$78,000 per year (DOE) Position Summary The Grant Accountant will be responsible for day-to-day general ledger accounting, federal and state grant compliance, expenditure tracking, and monthly reconciliations. This role works closely with program directors and the finance leadership team to ensure all fund accounting records strictly adhere to GAAP, grant provisions, and federal compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities Grant Accounting & Reporting:
Monitor and track grant budgets, track allowable costs, prepare monthly/quarterly expenditure reports, and support invoice drawdowns under federal and state contracts.
General Ledger & Month-End Close:
Prepare and enter recurring journal entries, maintain the chart of accounts, and perform timely reconciliations for cash, accounts receivable, and balance sheet accounts.
MIP Systems Management:
Process financial transactions and allocations using MIP Fund Accounting software.
Audit & Compliance Support:
Assist in compiling schedules and supporting documentation for annual agency audits, funding source reviews, and federal Single Audits (Uniform Guidance 2 CFR 200).
Cost Allocation:
Calculate and apply indirect cost allocations and shared expense distributions across various funding streams.
Qualifications Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business discipline required.
Experience:
2+ years of full-cycle accounting experience, with direct exposure to non-profit, fund, or governmental accounting.
Software:
Demonstrated hands-on experience using MIP Fund Accounting (strongly preferred) and intermediate-to-advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables).
Knowledge:
Familiarity with federal grant regulations, Uniform Guidance, and fund tracking.
Soft Skills:
Strong analytical capabilities, high attention to detail, and effective bilingual communication skills (English/Spanish is a plus, but not required). Compliance & Clearances Due to the nature of our community and programs, offer of employment is contingent upon successful completion of:
