STAFF ACCOUNTANT - OPERATIONS
Our in-house accounting team oversees and facilitates all company financial and administrative operations, reporting, and compliance. In this role you will be part of the team, processing day-to-day financial transactions, preparing accurate reporting for management, and providing backup and support for other administration team members. This is a 100% on-site position in our Moorpark office. Remote work is not available for this position. Responsibilities and Tasks related to this position
General Ledger & Reporting:
Post journal entries, reconcile GL accounts, prepare reports for management, and assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close process
Reconciliations:
Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, fixed asset accounts, and other accounts as needed
Accounts Payable:
Process vendor invoices and payments via check or electronic payment
Accounts Receivable:
Assist with processing client invoices, and accounts receivable follow-up and collections
Payroll:
Provide support, and if needed, backup to in-house payroll department
Work-in-progress:
Perform work-in-progress calculations and analysis
Audit Compliance:
Assist CFO with tasks associated with internal or external audits, as needed
Analysis:
Perform variance analysis, comparing actual results to budget and/or prior periods, as needed
Tax Related:
Process sales/use tax returns, 1099s, property taxes, and other informational returns as needed
Administrative Operations:
Provide occasional backup for administrative functions as needed, such as answering phones, collecting mail, and going to the post office
Required Skills and Qualifications Education:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree, with demonstrated ability and expertise in accounting
Experience:
4+ years of relevant work experience; payroll experience would be a plus
Technical Skills:
Strong proficiency in MS Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs) and knowledge of accounting software (experience with Sage 100 / MAS 90 would be a plus)
Accounting Knowledge:
Solid understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and financial recordkeeping
