Staff Accountant

A growing, fast-paced organization is seeking an Interim Staff Accountant to support general ledger accounting and month-end close activities. This role will be a key contributor to maintaining and improving accounting processes in a dynamic environment. The position will also support cross-functional initiatives and process improvements, including system implementations and internal controls development. Responsibilities Prepare monthly and quarterly accrals in collaboration with internal stakeholders and budget owners Maintain schedules and supporting documentation for prepaid expenses Post journal entries and reconcile general ledger accounts Assist with month-end close and related accounting processes Support system implementation projects and process improvements within the procure-to-pay cycle Provide documentation and support for external audits (quarterly and annual) Partner cross-functionally and assist with ad hoc reporting and projects as needed Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field required 1-3 years of accounting experience; public accounting experience is a plus Strong understanding of GAAP Solid analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail Ability to manage and organize large amounts of data efficiently Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Proficiency in Excel and experience with accounting systems (e.g., ERP platforms such as NetSuite or SAP preferred) CPA or progress toward certification is a plus Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law in geographies that require salary range disclosure, Vaco/Highspring notes the salary range for the role is noted in this job posting.
