Job Description

Staff Accountant (CONTRACT) You are a Staff Accountant with a strong accounting foundation and experience supporting commercial real estate or property management environments. You are detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable managing property-level accounting responsibilities, CAM reconciliations, journal entries, bank reconciliations, and balance sheet accounts. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, take ownership of your work, and are looking for a long-term opportunity with a growing commercial real estate organization.
This position pays:
$85,000-$90,000
Location :
Petaluma, CA What you will be doing: Manage property tax information, including payments, accruals, and assessed values. Maintain accurate cash management spreadsheets and assist with wire transfers. Review new leases for CAM provisions and document applicable information in Yardi and Excel. Manage retail and percentage rents. Prepare CAM reconciliations across a portfolio of commercial properties and coordinate adjustments. Review and process internal management fee payments. Prepare adjusting journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation. Complete monthly bank reconciliations. Review balance sheet accounts, including AR, AP, prepaid expenses, and security deposits. Assist with semi-annual budgeting for property taxes, insurance, business licenses, and other taxes. Support the accounting onboarding of newly acquired properties. Maintain entity compliance with applicable local and state governmental agencies. Participate in developing and implementing accounting policies, controls, and procedures. Provide backup support for AP and AR as needed.
What you bring:
Bachelor's degree with a background in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent education and experience. 5+ years of accounting and/or commercial real estate property management experience preferred. Experience with commercial property accounting and CAM reconciliations. Yardi Voyager experience strongly preferred, including experience with modules such as CheckScan, PayScan, Commercial Café, and CAM processing. Intermediate to advanced Excel skills. Strong understanding of journal entries, bank reconciliations, balance sheet accounts, AP, and AR. Ability to read and interpret tenant leases, management agreements, loan agreements, and other legal documents. To learn more about the workplace culture and the position, please apply! #INDfakw
