We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to support a focused audit cleanup initiative in Rancho Murieta, California. This onsite opportunity is a Long-term Contract position suited for someone who can bring structure to financial records, work efficiently with large data sets, and maintain strong accuracy in day-to-day accounting activities. The ideal candidate will be comfortable handling journal entries, reconciling accounts, and contributing to a well-organized close process.

Responsibilities:

Review and organize accounting records to support audit preparation and resolve outstanding discrepancies. Prepare and post journal entries with a high level of accuracy and supporting documentation. Reconcile bank accounts and key balance sheet accounts to ensure financial data is complete and reliable. Support accounts payable-related accounting tasks and help verify proper coding and documentation. Maintain orderly records and coordinate follow-up items to keep the audit cleanup project moving on schedule. Use Excel to analyze financial information, track variances, and improve the clarity of supporting schedules. Prior experience in staff or senior-level accounting roles, preferably in project-based or audit support environments. Strong understanding of journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger activity. Advanced Excel skills with the ability to manage and analyze detailed financial data. Familiarity with accounts payable processes and bank reconciliation procedures. Experience with Great Plains is preferred. Ability to work onsite full-time.
