Construction/Project-Based Environment Ledgent Finance & Accounting, a Roth Staffing Company, is partnering with a growing organization in the Roseville area to identify a detail-oriented Project Accountant. This is an exciting opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys working closely with project managers and operations teams to ensure projects remain financially accurate and on track. The ideal candidate will have experience managing project costs, billings, budgeting, and reporting in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Monitor project budgets, costs, and financial performance throughout the project lifecycle Track project expenditures and ensure costs are coded accurately Prepare and process customer billings, including progress and time-and-material billings Review contracts and assist with project setup in the accounting system Analyze project profitability and provide ongoing financial reporting Reconcile project accounts and investigate discrepancies Prepare and maintain job cost reports and work-in-progress (WIP) schedules Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations related to project activity Collaborate with project managers to review budgets, forecasts, change orders, and project status Assist with audits and provide supporting documentation as needed Support process improvements and special projects within the accounting department Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred 3-6 years of accounting experience, including project accounting, cost accounting, or construction accounting Strong understanding of job costing, project billing, and financial reporting Experience working with ERP or project accounting software Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and reporting functions Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities Strong communication skills with the ability to partner effectively with operational teams Construction, engineering, manufacturing, or other project-based industry experience is highly preferred What Our Client Offers Opportunity to join a stable and growing organization Collaborative team environment with strong leadership support Exposure to complex and high-impact projects Competitive compensation and career growth potential All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, national origin, age, ancestry, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, disability, medical condition, genetic information, pregnancy, or military or veteran status.
