Overview Are you an accounting professional looking for your next opportunity with the potential to grow into a permanent role? We're seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant with 2-3 years of accounting experience to join our team in San Diego. This is a temporary-to-hire opportunity offering a hybrid work arrangement, a collaborative environment, and the chance to contribute to key financial operations and business initiatives. How you'll make an impact As a Staff Accountant, you'll play an important role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the organization's accounting operations.
Responsibilities include:
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and supporting schedules Perform bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies Record, reconcile, and maintain financial transactions within accounting systems Assist with cash management activities, including processing payments and monitoring cash balances Support annual audits by gathering documentation and preparing audit schedules Generate financial reports and ad hoc analyses for business leaders Maintain accounting records and documentation in compliance with company standards Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial reporting needs Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, and the overall client experience Assist with the transition from QuickBooks to Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365), including testing, validation, and process documentation Provide administrative support to the accounting team as needed About You Required Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 2-3 years of accounting experience Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting Experience with QuickBooks and/or Microsoft Dynamics 365 Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Strong teamwork and collaboration skills Experience supporting audits or financial compliance activities Knowledge of healthcare, employee benefits, or related industries is a plus #LI-MS2 #contingent Compensation and benefits At Gallagher, we believe supporting our colleagues goes far beyond the role itself.
