Job Description
Senior Revenue Accounting Manager Our client, a global technology and manufacturing company, is seeking a Senior Revenue Accounting Manager to lead its revenue accounting function during a period of continued growth.
Location:
San Jose, CA. This role is on-site five days per week. This strategic and hands-on role will oversee revenue recognition, reporting, close activities, internal controls, and process improvement across a complex, high-volume operating environment. The ideal candidate brings deep technical revenue accounting expertise, strong leadership skills, and the ability to partner effectively with Sales, Operations, Legal, Finance, and executive stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
Lead revenue accounting and reporting activities, ensuring compliance with applicable revenue recognition guidance Evaluate complex customer arrangements, including multi-element contracts, channel sales, rebates, incentives, and other forms of variable consideration Oversee revenue-related month-end and quarter-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, analytics, and reporting Partner with FP&A, Sales Operations, Legal, and other stakeholders to support forecasting, contract evaluation, and business decision-making Analyze revenue trends, margin impacts, and key business drivers, providing clear insights to senior leadership Serve as the primary contact for auditors on revenue matters and support external reporting requirements Maintain effective internal controls across revenue and order-to-cash processes Drive automation, systems enhancements, data integrity, and scalable process improvements across the revenue function Lead, mentor, and develop accounting team members while promoting accountability and continuous improvement
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA preferred 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including significant revenue accounting responsibility Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP and revenue recognition guidance for complex customer arrangements 5+ years of leadership experience managing accounting professionals or revenue-related teams Experience supporting high-volume transactions within a technology, hardware, manufacturing, or similarly complex operating environment
