Job Description

Senior Firmware EngineerPosition OverviewWe are seeking a Senior Firmware Engineer to design, develop and maintain firmware for embedded systems based on ARM microprocessors. The role focuses on creating robust, real-time Embedded C firmware, collaborating closely with hardware and system teams, and driving low-level system integration and performance optimization. The ideal candidate will have deep hands-on experience with ARM architectures, embedded systems design, and a strong debugging mindset.

Qualifications5+ years of professional experience developing firmware for embedded systems, with demonstrated ownership of production releases.

Strong proficiency in Embedded C and good understanding of C-language best practices for constrained environments.

Proven experience with ARM microprocessors, including familiarity with Cortex-M/A cores, memory maps, and peripheral programming.

Solid understanding of system-level programming.familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and techniques for productivity or code analysis.

Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.

It is a plus if you have experience in:

Assembly language.

Storage, networking, NVMe.

Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain firmware in Embedded C for ARM-based microprocessor platforms.

Implement low-level system drivers and board support packages (BSP) to support peripherals and system bring-up.

Collaborate with hardware engineers to define interfaces, perform hardware/software integration, and validate board-level functionality.

Optimize firmware for performance, power consumption, reliability, and memory footprint.

Debug complex system issues using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, JTAG/SWD debuggers and trace tools; perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions.

Develop and maintain firmware architecture documentation, design specifications, and unit/integration test plans.

Contribute to system-level programming tasks, including bootloader development, initialization sequences, and peripheral configuration.

Work with cross-functional teams to integrate firmware with storage, networking and NVMe subsystems where applicable.

Mentor junior firmware engineers, perform code reviews, and promote best practices in embedded software development.

Stay current with industry trends and evaluate AI tools, assembly optimizations, or kernel-level techniques to improve development productivity and firmware quality.
