Position Summary The Accounting & Human Resources Manager plays a key role in ensuring the financial health and people operations of the organization. This position is responsible for day-to-day accounting functions, financial reporting, payroll, and compliance, while also managing core HR operations including benefits administration, employee onboarding, and policy implementation. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working across functions in a nonprofit environment. Our revenue in 2026 is projected to be $2.2M and we employ approximately 12 full time employees with approximately 20 more part time, on demand, and seasonal employees. This role will aid us in transitioning our accounting and HR functions to a longer term model that is more integrated with our day to day management. This role will work closely with our board Treasurer, the Executive Directors, and our Bookkeeper. Key Responsibilities Accounting & Finance Manage daily accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements Oversee budgeting, cash flow management, and financial forecasting Manage payroll processing and related tax filings Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards and regulations Coordinate annual audit and work with external auditors and accountants Support grant reporting and financial tracking for restricted funds Manage donations receipts processing including in kind donations, fundraising campaigns, and an annual silent auction Supervise bookkeeper currently on staff Human Resources Administer payroll, benefits, and retirement plans Manage employee onboarding, offboarding, and personnel records Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws Maintain and update employee handbook and HR policies Support performance review processes and employee relations Serve as a confidential point of contact for HR-related questions Organizational Support Partner with leadership on financial and workforce planning Improve systems, processes, and internal controls Support a positive, inclusive, and compliant workplace culture Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field 3-7 years of experience in accounting and/or HR, preferably in a nonprofit setting Strong knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit financial practices Experience with payroll systems and HR administration Proficiency with accounting software (Quickbooks Online preferred) High level of discretion and integrity Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills Preferred Qualifications Experience with nonprofit audits and grant reporting Experience with donation management system (we use Little Green LIght) SHRM-CP, PHR, CPA, or similar certification Experience working in a growing or changing organization Compensation & Benefits Salary range: [$35/hr to $40/hr], commensurate with experience and the number of hours scheduled.
