Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing a wide range of accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial standards. Your expertise will support the organization's financial health through meticulous bookkeeping, account reconciliation, and financial data analysis. The ideal candidate is proactive, highly organized, and possesses a strong foundation in accounting principles and software systems. Responsibilities Perform daily bookkeeping tasks including data entry, journal entries, and account analysis using various accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, and Workday. Reconcile balance sheets and accounts receivable/payable to ensure accuracy and completeness. Manage accounts payable and receivable processes efficiently while maintaining vendor and customer relationships. Prepare detailed financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements for management review. Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act), and governmental accounting standards. Conduct regular account reconciliations and double-entry bookkeeping to uphold financial integrity. Handle confidential information with discretion while supporting audits and internal controls related to public accounting standards. Assist with month-end closing procedures, including ledger maintenance and financial statement preparation. Support technical accounting projects such as revenue recognition, complex journal entries, or system upgrades involving ADP, Kronos, UltiPro, or other payroll/HR systems. Collaborate cross-functionally with departments to improve accounting processes using Excel data analysis and financial software tools like PeopleSoft or Ceridian. Experience Proven experience in accounting or finance roles with a strong understanding of accounting concepts such as debits & credits, account analysis, and financial acumen. Demonstrated proficiency in accounting systems including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Workday, Ceridian, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro or similar platforms. Experience working within corporate or governmental accounting environments is highly desirable. Familiarity with public accounting practices or internships that provided exposure to audit procedures is advantageous. Strong numeracy skills coupled with excellent attention to detail for accurate data entry and account reconciliation tasks. Ability to analyze complex financial data using spreadsheets and Excel data analysis techniques effectively. Knowledge of SOX compliance requirements and technical accounting standards is a plus. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high accuracy levels.
