Full-time Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
As an Accountant-General, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate financial record-keeping, supporting financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with nonprofit accounting standards. Your work will contribute to the organization's financial transparency, integrity, and ability to effectively fulfill its mission. Prepare comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements and reporting packages. Evaluate various transactions and determine appropriate accounting procedures. Generate journal entries and maintain accurate general ledger records. Process payments for rapid rehousing programs Prepare monthly billings for grants, to include collecting and compiling backup data Reconcile monthly bank statements with the general ledger as assigned Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions as needed. Handle cash receipts and manage bank deposit procedures as assigned Monitor daily cash balances and ensure proper management. Contribute to the overseeing of program budgets Enter and reconcile transactions accurately in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) or other designated systems. Be prepared to respond to crisis situations promptly and effectively, providing immediate assistance and access to appropriate resources when needed. Responsible for promptly notifying the manager of any work orders that need to be submitted or supplies that need to be ordered. Responsible for attending staff meetings, ensuring timely completion of training, and accurately completing timecards. Perform related duties as assigned by the supervisor. Work Experience Requirements:

Previous experience in accounting or financial roles, preferably within a nonprofit organization. Familiarity with nonprofit accounting principles and regulations is a plus. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills. Required Qualifications:
Employment Eligibility Verification :
Must provide documentation to establish identity and employment eligibility in compliance with legal requirements. This may include a U.S. passport, Permanent Resident Card, or other acceptable forms of identification.
Negative Tuberculosis Test:
Must provide documentation of a recent negative tuberculosis (TB) test result to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
Background Screening:
Successful completion of a comprehensive background screening, which may include criminal record checks, employment history verification, and reference checks.
Pre-Employment Drug Screening:
Must pass a pre-employment drug screening to ensure a drug-free workplace. A negative drug test result is required.
Driving Skills :
Must meet the requirements set by our auto insurance carrier
Insurance Coverage :
Must be able to qualify for Good Samaritan Shelter insurance coverage, which may include meeting specific criteria related to driving record, insurance claims history and other factors.
