Responsibilities Lead and manage the accounting team to ensure timely and accurate financial statement preparation in accordance with GAAP, IFRS, and other relevant standards. Oversee general ledger accounting, balance sheet reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processes. Ensure compliance with SOX controls, regulatory reporting requirements, and governmental accounting standards for non-profit or public sector entities. Conduct detailed financial analysis, including cost accounting analysis, forecasting, and budgeting to support strategic decision-making. Manage cash flow forecasting, treasury management, and cash management activities to optimize liquidity. Oversee the financial close process, including journal entries, account reconciliation, and audit preparations. Implement and maintain robust accounting systems and software solutions to enhance operational efficiency. Ensure adherence to internal controls and regulatory compliance accounting practices across all financial functions. Prepare comprehensive financial reports and writing clear financial reports for internal stakeholders or external regulators. Manage external audits, liaising with auditors to facilitate smooth audit processes while ensuring compliance with all applicable standards. Requirements Proven experience managing accounting teams within complex organizations or public accounting environments. Extensive knowledge of
GAAP, IFRS, SOX
compliance, governmental accounting standards, and non-profit accounting practices. Strong expertise in financial concepts such as double entry bookkeeping, balance sheet reconciliation, debits & credits, and account analysis. Proficiency in accounting software systems and advanced Excel data analysis skills for financial reporting and forecasting. Demonstrated ability in managing regulatory compliance accounting including regulatory reporting requirements. Experience in international accounting practices is preferred but not mandatory. Excellent communication skills with the ability to write detailed financial reports clearly and effectively. Strong analytical skills with a focus on accuracy in account reconciliation and financial management activities. Ability to lead cross-functional teams effectively while maintaining a proactive approach to problem-solving within fast-paced environments.
