An Accountant organizes and maintains financial records and prepares financial statements for companies and organizations. Works as a public accountant (prepares financial documents where public disclosure is required by law, such as business balance sheets and tax returns), management accountant (prepares financial information for internal use by a company) or government accountant (maintains records for government agencies).
We are exclusively representing our client, a well-known CPG company, in hiring a Senior Manager of Accounting.
Responsibilities Include:
Planning, directing, and coordinating all accounting operational functions Establishing and maintaining an effective system of internal controls over financial processes and reporting Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for the accurate accounting, reporting, and analysis of consolidated business results Preparing internal and external financial statements and group consolidation schedules Coordinating activities of external auditors, tax team, and internal auditors Providing management with information vital to the decision-making process Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement, and implementing new processes Owning data integrity of the general ledger, including the chart of accounts, vendors, customers, products, and related master data Overseeing regulatory reporting, including compliance and applicable accounting, tax, and statutory requirements Researching technical accounting issues Leading the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting Partnering cross-functionally with FP&A, Tax, Supply Chain & Operations, and executive leadership to support business performance and strategic initiatives Supporting audits, due diligence, and special projects, including system implementations and process automation initiatives
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or a related field CPA license or equivalent preferred 8 years of progressive Accounting/Finance experience in a corporate setting 3+ years of leadership or people management experience preferred Previous experience in a CPG or direct-to-consumer environment is a plus Experience in a role where multiple projects and competing demands are the norm Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and IFRS financial reporting requirements NetSuite, SAP, or other ERP system, and PowerBI experience a plus
