Job Description

Summary/Objective This position is responsible for all accounting and reporting duties for a portfolio of cash and accrual basis properties. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements with an emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.
o Record all journal entries with supporting backup. o Identify necessary accruals and post journal entries for accrual books. o Prepare supporting schedules for all balance sheet accounts. o Ensure all system-prepared schedules are reconciled and resolve differences. o Calculate management fees. o Perform bank reconciliations and ensure reconciled items are cleared. o Responsible for debt payments and ensuring the accuracy of client distributions. o Monitor cash account and prepare funding requests and money transfers when required. o Prepare depreciation and amortization schedules.
  • Prepare external financial reports and/or miscellaneous client requests.
  • Prepare information required for external audits and tax returns.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets, CAM reconciliations, insurance calculations, tax calculations and CAM disputes.
  • Review lease abstracts, billing adjustments, and move-in and move-out forms.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships between departments and co-workers.

Work Environment This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers and scanners. Physical Demands This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing may be required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand as necessary. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time in office position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Travel This position requires no travel. Required Education, Licenses, and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, or finance with two years of hands-on property accounting experience.
  • Excellent communication and multi-tasking skills.
  • Pro-active, and detail-oriented team player.
  • Experience with MRI, Yardi, and Avid is highly desirable.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and comfortable with creating and analyzing formulas.
