Staff Accountant Location:
Orange County, CA (Onsite)
Compensation:
$32/hr - $43/hr We are seeking a Staff Project Accountant to join a growing organization in the construction industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in general ledger accounting and experience supporting construction projects through the full accounting cycle. This role requires someone who is comfortable managing project financials, month-end close activities, and industry-specific accounting processes. Key Responsibilities Perform general ledger accounting and maintain accurate financial records. Assist with month-end close, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting. Manage project accounting activities for multiple construction projects. Monitor and report Work in Progress (WIP). Apply Percentage of Completion (POC) accounting methodologies. Ensure accurate revenue recognition in accordance with accounting standards. Track and process project change orders and their financial impact. Prepare and analyze project cost reports and support operational teams. Utilize advanced Excel functions to analyze financial data and create reports. Required Qualifications Strong general ledger accounting experience. Experience with month-end close processes. Construction accounting experience. Project accounting experience. Knowledge of Work in Progress (WIP) reporting. Experience with Percentage of Completion (POC) accounting. Understanding of revenue recognition principles. Experience managing change orders. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and formulas. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Microsoft Dynamics ERP.
