Job Description
Hello, we are Langwasser & Company, CPAs. We are one of Southern California's only woman-owned, boutique certified public accounting firms and a team of brilliant accounting professionals who are looking to grow the next generation of talent through hands-on experience with our top clientele. We are currently seeking Staff Accountants for our office located in Upland, California. Our firm has been in business for over 30 years and prides ourselves on our excellent company culture and work ethic, our care for each other, and our unwavering belief that life is the greatest classroom on earth where we can learn and get better at the craft of accounting and tax preparation every day. From the moment you arrive, you will be accountable for critical deliverables and will be given the mentorship and support to become an Enrolled Agent (EA), a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), and an expert in QuickBooks and Lacerte Tax Preparation. Our collaborative work environment is fast-paced and is suited for quick learners with a strong attention to detail and a love for accountancy. To be successful at Langwasser & Company, CPAs, you must be an independent and ethical operator who is able to juggle multiple work assignments in a proactive and client-oriented manner. You should have no problem asking questions or seeking out help when you get stuck. You are always professional in both your appearance and your interactions with clients and fellow employees. Staff Accountant Responsibilities:
Preparation, compilation, review engagements for various types of clients and industries Individual, Corporate, S-Corp, LLC/LLP (Partnership), Non-Profit, Gift, Estate and Trust Tax Planning and Preparation Payroll and Sales Tax Return Preparation Bookkeeping and write-up services Tax Authority correspondence and audit defense research and communication Professional development to become an Enrolled Agent, Certified Public Accountant, and expert in QuickBooks and Lacerte Excellent written and verbal communication in English Willingness to work overtime as required, January 1 - April 15 and September 1 - Oct 15Required Skills/Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics from an accredited university A growth mindset and the willingness to learn on the job Awareness of budgets on engagements and the ability to work with supervisors or managers in keeping within those budgets Strong analytical skills, including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, and Word) Deep understanding and compliance with Firm's policies, procedures, manuals, forms, and relevant software Preferred Skills/Qualifications Previous experience is a plus; 1-3 years public accounting experience is ideal Knowledge of QuickBooks and Lacerte Tax Preparation software Enrolled Agent (EA) license Actively pursuing CPA certification by sitting for all scheduled examsCompensation:
