Tax Accountant / Senior Staff Accountant Take your accounting career beyond compliance and into strategic business impact. We're seeking a CPA with public accounting experience who wants more than routine accounting work. In this role, you'll manage the financial reporting, budgeting, and tax compliance for a portfolio of real estate entities while partnering with leadership to support critical business decisions. + Clear path for continued professional growth and advancement What You'll Do As a trusted financial partner, you'll oversee accounting and tax responsibilities for assigned real estate entities and help ensure accurate, timely, and insightful financial reporting. Key Responsibilities

+ Prepare, review, and analyze quarterly financial statements for assigned entities

+ Provide budget-to-actual variance analysis and financial insights to management and ownership groups

+ Review daily cash activity and ensure transactions are accurately recorded to the appropriate accounts

+ Review monthly bank reconciliations for accuracy and completeness

+ Prepare and review quarter-end journal entries and account reconciliations

+ Lead annual budgeting efforts in collaboration with property management and construction teams

+ Manage year-end general ledger reviews and closing processes

+ Prepare partnership and LLC tax returns and support tax compliance activities

+ Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting, and internal controls

+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams on financial and operational initiatives What You'll BringRequired Qualifications

+ Active CPA license

+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field

+ Minimum of 2 years of public accounting audit experience

+ Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience

+ Experience preparing partnership and LLC tax returns

+ Strong understanding of financial reporting, GAAP, and general ledger accounting

+ Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel

+ Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills

+ Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy Preferred Qualifications

+ MBA or Master of Taxation (MBT)

+ Experience within real estate, construction, or property management

Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Whittier, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $43.50 - $52.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
