About the Role We are looking for a Staff Accountant who enjoys both day-to-day accounting and solving problems . This is not a role focused solely on processing transactions. The Staff Accountant will have an opportunity to help improve accounting processes, strengthen documentation and controls, resolve discrepancies, and improve how financial information flows through the organization. You will work closely with our Finance Lead, System Administrator, operations and project teams, as well as customers and vendors. What You'll Do Prepare and issue customer invoices accurately and on time Receive, review, code, and enter vendor and contractor invoices Manage day-to-day accounts payable and accounts receivable activities Maintain and reconcile AP and AR aging Communicate directly with customers and vendors regarding invoices, balances, and payment questions Record and apply customer payments Prepare account reconciliations and routine journal entries Assist with general ledger and subledger reconciliations Support month-end and year-end close Research accounting discrepancies and unresolved transactions Assist with cleanup and reconciliation of historical accounting records Maintain complete supporting documentation and strong transaction audit trails Assist with project accounting and project-cost reconciliations Support financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting Assist with CPA, tax, and audit requests Help document recurring accounting procedures and best practices Work with the Finance Lead and System Administrator to improve Odoo and QuickBooks accounting workflows Identify opportunities to reduce manual work and improve accounting accuracy and efficiency What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent accounting experience will also be considered Approximately 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience preferred Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, journal entries, account reconciliations, and GAAP Hands-on AP and AR experience Experience supporting month-end close Strong Microsoft Excel skills Experience with accounting or ERP systems Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to communicate professionally with customers, vendors, and internal teams Comfortable working in a hands-on, small-company environment where responsibilities can be broad Nice to Have CPA Odoo experience Manufacturing or industrial-services experience Project accounting or job-costing experience Inventory or cost-accounting knowledge Experience with ERP implementations, accounting cleanup, or process-improvement projects Experience reconciling sales orders, purchase orders, invoices, shipments, and payments Who Will Succeed at IPS?
