JOB SUMMARY
A small law firm is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Part-Time Senior Billing and Accounting Clerk to manage our financial operations. Working 30 hours per week in a fast paced, collaborative environment, you will oversee the complete billing cycle, trust accounting compliance, vendor payments, and staff payroll. The ideal candidate has strong legal bookkeeping experience and must be highly proficient in both Sage Timeslips and QuickBooks.
JOB OVERVIEW

Senior Billing and Accounting Clerk •

Part-time, Hourly / Non-Exempt (30 hours per week) •
Setting:
Small law firm environment •
Reports To:
Managing Partner •
Compensation:
$24.00 - $29.00 / hour (Based on experience)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Legal Billing:
Process monthly pre-bills, edit time entries, and generate client invoices using Sage Timeslips. •
Payroll Processing:
Administer and process firm payroll, track employee hours, and manage tax withholdings and deductions within QuickBooks. •
Accounts Receivable:
Track payment statuses, follow up on overdue client balances, and post incoming client payments. •
Trust Accounting:
Handle IOLTA/trust account transactions, track retainers, and ensure compliance with state bar rules. •
General Ledger:
Perform bank reconciliations, enter vendor invoices, and process accounts payable in QuickBooks. •
Reporting:
Prepare standard financial reports, aging reports, and revenue summaries for the Managing Partner.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience:
3 to 5 years of legal billing, payroll, or general accounting experience. •
Software:
Proven, hands-on experience using Sage Timeslips and QuickBooks is strictly required. •
Skills:
Strong knowledge of trust accounting rules, payroll tax compliance, data entry accuracy, and math skills. •
Communication:
Clear and polite communication skills for talking with clients about bills.
Pay:
$30.00 - $35.00 per hour
