Project Accountant

Century Group is partnering with a client that is seeking a Project Accountant to join their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary of $80,000 to $90,000 per year.

Job Responsibilities:

Oversee budget tracking, project expenses, labor hours, schedule updates, and progress indicators for direct and subcontracted work. Manage and review project cost data daily or weekly to ensure accuracy and flag potential issues. Correct and reallocate inaccurate cost data to maintain financial accuracy. Support data entry for Change Orders, Purchase Orders, and Subcontract Ledgers as needed. Assist with cost forecasting, analysis, and materials tracking to improve project efficiency.

Requirements:

A bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or equivalent work experience. Have 3+ years of experience in project cost control, cost accounting, or financial analysis. Demonstrate proficiency in Trimble Viewpoint and HCSS software. Show strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Adapt to changing priorities while maintaining attention to detail.

Qualifications:

Be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and ERP systems. Understand construction cost controls and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Have experience using reporting tools such as Power BI and Excel for data analysis. Communicate effectively with professionals at all levels, both verbally and in writing.
