At the Colorado Center, we work together as a team. Applicant will work with both staff and students. We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, including GAAP, and will be proficient in various accounting software. This role is essential for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing insightful financial analysis to support decision-making processes. We'd love to see your resume and a cover letter if you'd like to apply. Responsibilities Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP. Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including invoice processing and payment tracking. Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and account reconciliation to maintain accurate financial records. Perform financial report writing and interpretation to provide insights into financial performance. Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis to support strategic planning. Maintain the general ledger, including journal entries and adjustments as necessary. Ensure compliance with regulatory reporting requirements and assist with auditing processes. Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless financial operations across the organization. Stay updated on relevant accounting laws and regulations, including SOX, securities law, and governmental accounting standards. Qualifications Associate's degree in Accounting or Finance. Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Quicken, PeopleSoft, Sage, Xero, or similar platforms. Strong knowledge of financial concepts including double entry bookkeeping, accrual accounting, and financial management principles. Experience in corporate accounting as well as non-profit accounting is highly desirable. Excellent analytical skills with a focus on financial analysis and account analysis. Proficient in Microsoft Excel for data manipulation and reporting purposes. Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
