Senior Accountant A well-established organization is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join its accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in government, education, public sector, or audit who enjoys detailed accounting, financial reporting, and improving processes. What You'll Be Doing:
Maintain the general ledger and ensure financial transactions are accurate and complete Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and supporting schedules Participate in month-end and year-end close activities Support financial reporting, compliance, and audit requirements Analyze revenue, expenditures, balance sheet accounts, and other financial activity Perform system balancing and investigate and resolve discrepancies Serve as an accounting resource to internal departments and stakeholders Prepare audit schedules, documentation, and supporting materials Provide guidance and training related to accounting procedures and financial systems Participate in financial system testing, upgrades, and implementation projects Identify opportunities to strengthen processes and internal controls
What We're Looking For:
5+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or audit Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Experience working with large data sets and detailed financial analysis Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls Government or public-sector accounting experience strongly preferred Education, government administration, or audit background is highly valued Experience with general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and audits Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a complex and evolving environment 💰
Salary:
