full-time Staff Accountant Trumbull, CT (Onsite) $70,000-$90,000 + Benefits A growing and highly respected professional services organization is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its finance team in Trumbull, CT. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with accounting leadership while supporting core financial operations, month-end close, reconciliations, financial reporting, and compliance-related accounting functions. Responsibilities Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and support month-end close activities. Maintain general ledger accuracy and assist with financial reporting. Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash reconciliations. Support audit and tax preparation activities. Ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements. Work collaboratively with finance, operations, and business stakeholders. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. 3-7 years of accounting experience. Strong knowledge of GAAP, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close. Advanced Excel skills. Experience in professional services, financial services, banking, wealth management, real estate, title insurance, nonprofit, or similar environments preferred. Highly Desired Experience We welcome candidates with experience in: Trust accounting or IOLTA compliance Escrow account reconciliation Fiduciary or wealth management accounting Fund accounting Treasury or banking operations accounting Restricted fund accounting Candidates with strong accounting fundamentals and experience managing segregated client, escrow, trust, or fiduciary funds are encouraged to apply. Training will be provided for the right individual.
