What are we looking for? We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. The Staff Accountant will support the day-to-day accounting operations, assist in preparing financial statements, maintain general ledger entries, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. This position offers a strong opportunity for professional growth and development in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Your overall essential responsibilities will be the following: Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions. Prepare and post journal entries and maintain the general ledger. Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes. Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and other balance sheet accounts. Assist with preparing financial statements and supporting documentation. Perform variance analysis and assist with budgeting and forecasting. Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies. Support audits by providing necessary documentation and reports. Help maintain accurate fixed asset records and depreciation schedules. Collaborate with other departments to resolve discrepancies and improve processes. Stay current with accounting standards and company policies. The salary range for this position is $65,000-$80,000 depending on experience. You will catch our eye if you have the following knowledge, skills, and abilities: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 1-3 years of relevant accounting experience (public or corporate accounting preferred). Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or similar). Strong analytical and organizational skills. Attention to detail and accuracy in work. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Extra credit will be given if you have the following experience, education, and requirements: Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools. Knowledge of GAAP and internal controls.

Obtain a valid health certificate to meet SJCS or current funding authority requirements as required. Meet SJCS and the state funding authority requirements of criminal background and record checks. Having a valid state-issued driver's license with a current driving record in good standing is required.
Physical and environmental conditions include:
May lift a minimum of 15 pounds. Able to sit, stand, bend, stoop, reach and walk for long periods. Hybrid options available.
