We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join an organization in Newport, Delaware in an on-site, contract-to-permanent capacity. This role supports core accounting operations by helping manage daily transactions, maintain accurate records, and contribute to timely month-end reporting. The position is well suited for an accounting specialist who is comfortable with reconciliations, financial review, and working across property-related accounting activities.

Responsibilities:

Manage daily cash activity and help oversee controls designed to reduce payment and banking risk. Complete monthly reconciliations for assigned accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner. Support the month-end close process by preparing journal entries and organizing related documentation. Assist in producing monthly financial statements along with schedules that support reported balances. Analyze financial results and prepare variance reporting to highlight key changes and trends. Help track, maintain, and renew required business licenses to support ongoing operations. Provide accounting support for property-related activities and take on additional finance tasks as business needs evolve. At least 3 years of accounting experience in a staff accountant or similar role. Strong background in account reconciliations, month-end close, and financial analysis. Experience preparing journal entries and working within the general ledger. Knowledge of corporate tax, sales tax, and corporate tax return processes. Ability to prepare accurate financial reports and supporting schedules. Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in an on-site environment.
