Full benefits package upon hire (medical, dental, vision, 401(k), paid time off, holidays) Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant with construction industry experience to support general ledger accounting, job costing, and Work‐in‐Progress (WIP) reporting. This role works closely with the Controller and plays a critical part in monthly close, financial reporting, budgeting, and audit support. Strong Excel skills and hands-on experience with construction accounting practices are essential. Key Responsibilities Perform general ledger accounting activities in accordance with GAAP Assist the Controller with the monthly close process , including: Preparation of manual journal entries Maintenance of recurring entries Support construction job costing , including: Review and analysis of job cost reports Monitoring cost-to-complete and margin accuracy Assist with Work‐in‐Progress (WIP) reporting , including: Preparation and maintenance of WIP schedules Revenue recognition and cost recognition analysis Prepare and maintain Excel-based financial reports ; develop new reports as needed Assist with preparation of the annual operating budget Partner with Pre‐Construction and Project Management teams to provide financial data for bid pre‐qualifications and project analysis Maintain fixed asset schedules and coordinate additions, disposals, and depreciation with external auditors Prepare monthly reconciliations for balance sheet and P&L accounts, including bank accounts Assist with ad hoc financial analysis, management reports, and special projects Prepare audit workpapers and provide support during the annual external audit Provide backup support for other accounting functions as needed Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting Construction accounting experience required , including: Job costing WIP reporting Solid understanding of GAAP Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, reporting, reconciliation); working knowledge of Word and Outlook High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Demonstrates strong ethical standards, sound judgment, and professionalism Team-oriented with a positive attitude and willingness to support cross-functional needs Commitment to continuous learning and professional growth Bachelors Degree in Accounting or similar field Preferred Qualifications Experience with Sage 300 CRE or other construction accounting software Prior accounting experience within the construction or contracting industry Experience preparing or reviewing WIP schedules and job cost variance analysis Public accounting or audit experience Experience using
