full-time Unique opportunity to work for a growing Family office near the Design District, Miami. The Sr Accountant will essentially own the accounting functions for the business. Position Summary The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing and analyzing accounting activities, preparing accurate financial reports, supporting month-end and year-end close processes, and ensuring compliance with accounting policies and applicable regulations. This role works closely with finance, operations, and management to maintain accurate financial records and provide meaningful financial information for decision-making. Key Responsibilities Perform general ledger accounting and account reconciliations. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports. Manage month-end and year-end closing activities. Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and adjusting entries. Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and subsidiary ledgers. Analyze account balances and investigate discrepancies. Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed-asset accounting as needed. Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. Maintain accurate accounting records in accordance with GAAP and company policies. Assist with internal and external audits and provide supporting documentation. Ensure compliance with tax, regulatory, and financial reporting requirements. Prepare ad hoc financial analyses and reports for management. Mentor or provide guidance to junior accounting staff. Qualifications CPA or MA (must have) 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably Real estate, RE investment, family office Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles. Experience with month-end and year-end close processes. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
