full-time A real estate investment and property management company is seeking a Staff Accountant to support accounting across multiple properties and legal entities. This position offers broader exposure to general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and property and development activity within a growing real estate portfolio. Responsibilities Perform monthly bank, balance sheet, and intercompany reconciliations. Prepare journal entries, accruals, reclassifications, and supporting schedules. Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close. Maintain accurate general ledger activity across multiple properties and entities. Investigate and resolve account discrepancies and unusual transactions. Assist with financial statements, reporting schedules, audits, and year-end documentation. Review and code vendor invoices by property, entity, and general ledger account. Reconcile vendor statements and resolve payment discrepancies. Reconcile corporate credit card activity and allocate expenses accurately. Coordinate with property management and development teams to validate operating and project-related expenses. Follow internal controls, accounting procedures, and approval requirements. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. 3-5 years of accounting experience. Hands-on experience with general ledger accounting, journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and month-end close. Accounts payable experience, including invoice coding, payment processing, and vendor reconciliations. Experience working across multiple properties, companies, or legal entities. Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, lookups, pivot tables, and large data sets. Real estate, property management, or multi-entity accounting experience preferred. Yardi Voyager or similar property accounting software experience is a plus. Ability to independently investigate discrepancies and manage competing deadlines.
