JOB DESCRIPTION
Staff Accountant Reports To:
Controller Job Overview:
The Accountant supports the Controller in overseeing the accounting operations of the company. This role is responsible for day-to-day accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, supporting audits, and helping implement and maintain internal controls. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and experienced in GAAP compliance.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Complete general ledger activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closings Prepare financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP Support budgeting and forecasting processes Assist with the preparation of audits (internal and external) Maintain internal controls and ensure proper documentation of accounting policies and procedures Provide financial data and analysis to support business decisions
Qualifications:
Positive attitude and passion to learn Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred) 4+ years of progressive accounting experience Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP) and Microsoft Excel Experience with ERP systems a plus Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines Ability to walk in a non-paved environment and lift up to 20lbs.
