Holbrook specializes in providing a true connection between our travelers and the nature and people of our destinations to create experiences that last a lifetime. Holbrook works with organizations throughout the United States to create travel programs that fulfill a purpose for the traveler and often support the mission of the organization or leader. Our primary areas of expertise are Latin America and East Africa. Addtionally, Holbrook owns and operates Selva Verde Lodge and Private Reserve as well as a local tour company in Costa Rica. Holbrook is seeking a hands-on accounting professional to support the growth and development of the company with their knowledge, integrity, and teamwork and who is looking for a long-term career opportunity. This role will lead the daily accounting function and help ensure accurate, timely, and well-controlled financial operations. This role is also responsible for overseeing all daily accounting functions, monthly closings and reviewing reconciliations. This position is directly responsible for AP/AR processes, payroll, and reporting. In addition, the role provides leadership, structure, follow-through, and support across core accounting operations while working closely with internal stakeholders to ensure good financial reporting and analysis to meet business goals. This position reports to the current Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Holbrook Travel. Applicants must have strong verbal and written communication skills, be able to travel internationally as needed, be self-directed and enjoy working in a team environment. Excellent analytical skills, organizational abilities, and attention to detail are important for managing the multiple projects and tasks handled by this role. Proficiency in Spanish is a major plus for this position. We are looking forward to welcoming a new member into our dynamic and unique team! Key Responsibilities Lead daily accounting operations and help ensure accurate, timely, and organized financial processes across the business Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes Review journal entries and reconciliations for accuracy and completeness Preparation of internal financial statements and management reports Maintain general ledger integrity across departments Prepare budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis Maintain and improve accounting policies, internal controls, and workflow discipline Partner with leadership across accounting, operations, and administration to improve financial visibility and decision-making Identify process improvement opportunities and help implement scalable accounting procedures Perform other accounting and finance leadership duties as assigned Requirements and Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required 2-4+ years of progressive accounting experience preferred 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience preferred Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, close processes, and financial reporting Strong understanding of internal controls, process discipline, and accounting accuracy Strong Microsoft Excel skills and comfort with accounting systems and reporting tools Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong analytical ability, organization, follow-up, and attention to detail Ability to work in a team atmosphere. Spanish language abilities preferred but not required

- 50% Health and dental insurance premiums covered first & second year of employment for employee, 75% the third year, then 100% after completing 3 full years.
