Role:
We are seeking a Senior Accountant to manage key areas of the accounting cycle and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. This position will have a strong focus on month-end close, journal entries, account reconciliations, variance analysis, and general ledger accounting.
Key Responsibilities:
General Ledger & Month-End Close Prepare recurring and nonrecurring journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, depreciation, payroll, and other adjustments. Maintain the general ledger and supporting accounting schedules. Participate in monthly and year-end close activities. Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and resolve outstanding items. Financial Reporting & Analysis Analyze significant P&L and account variances and explain fluctuations. Assist with monthly management reporting and financial analysis. Research accounting discrepancies and identify appropriate resolutions. Reconcile and investigate intercompany balances and transactions. Audit & Compliance Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and requested information. Ensure accounting activities comply with GAAP, company policies, and internal controls. Maintain accurate documentation for accounting procedures and controls. Process Improvement & Projects Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting, and efficiency. Assist with ERP implementations, upgrades, and system-related projects. Partner with other departments to improve financial reporting accuracy. Support special projects and ad hoc financial analysis as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 3+ years of progressive accounting experience. Hands-on experience with month-end close and general ledger accounting. Strong experience preparing journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations. Experience with financial reporting and variance analysis. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Corporate or public accounting experience. Intercompany accounting experience.
