Job DescriptionJob Description Tax Accountant — TaxLeaf TaxLeaf is looking for a detail-oriented, experienced Tax Accountant to join our team. You'll specialize in tax preparation for individuals and businesses, making sure every return complies with federal, state, and local regulations. This role is a great fit for someone analytical and organized who can juggle multiple clients and deadlines with confidence. What you'll do Prepare and file individual and business tax returns, including multi-state filingsHandle bookkeeping and prepare financial statementsAnalyze financial statements to support accurate filingsSupport and assist the company's CPAManage client paperwork from intake to filingCommunicate with clients by email, phone, and in personUse Leafnet to manage clients, place orders, apply payments, and document interactionsContact governmental offices and coordinate with internal departmentsMaintain accurate task and database reportsKeep all company and client information confidential What you need (must-haves) Hands-on tax preparation experienceSolid knowledge of individual and business tax returnsBookkeeping experienceFinancial statement preparation and analysisStrong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax lawsFully bilingual in
English and Spanish:
speaking, writing, and readingProficiency in tax software (e.g., UltraTax), Microsoft Excel, Office, and Teams2-3 years in tax preparation or public accountingBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Nice to have CPA or EA certificationExperience with small business returns and multi-state filings You'll thrive here if you're Detail-oriented and highly organizedProactive and self-driven, comfortable working without close supervisionA strong communicator with great interpersonal and customer-service skillsEthical and committed to confidentialityAble to multitask and meet strict deadlines Schedule Monday to Friday, 9:30 am to 5:30 pm. Extended hours may be needed during tax season.
