Description We are looking for an Accountant to support financial operations for a hospitality organization in Naples, Florida. This long-term contract opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented individual who can manage day-to-day accounting activities while maintaining accuracy, discretion, and strong internal controls. The role will contribute to timely financial reporting, reliable recordkeeping, and responsive service for internal stakeholders and external partners.
Responsibilities:
- Process vendor invoices, verify supporting documentation, and coordinate timely payments in accordance with established approval procedures.
- Manage receivables activity by preparing invoices, posting incoming payments, and following up on outstanding balances as needed.
- Record journal entries and maintain the general ledger to ensure financial transactions are captured completely and accurately.
- Perform bank and cash reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and help maintain dependable cash-handling practices.
- Track fixed assets, update related accounting records, and support depreciation and asset reporting activities.
- Assist with month-end close by preparing schedules, reconciling accounts, and helping produce accurate financial statements.
- Protect sensitive financial data while adhering to internal controls, accounting policies, and organizational standards.
- Provide accounting support to management, department leaders, members, and vendors, including assistance within software platforms when applicable. Requirements
- Experience working in accounting roles with hands-on responsibility for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities.
- Proficiency in preparing journal entries, reconciling bank accounts, and supporting month-end close processes.
- Knowledge of fixed-asset accounting and maintaining accurate financial records in a structured environment.
- Familiarity with internal controls, cash-handling procedures, and confidential financial information management.
- Ability to use accounting systems effectively; experience with Jonas Club Software is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for working with vendors, leadership, and cross-functional teams.
