Position Summary The Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting the month-end close process, maintaining the general ledger, preparing financial reports, performing account reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with accounting policies and procedures. This role works closely with management and cross-functional teams to support accurate financial reporting and continuous process improvements. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Prepare and review monthly journal entries and account reconciliations. Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities. Maintain the general ledger and ensure the accuracy of financial records. Analyze financial data and investigate variances between actual and budgeted results. Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules. Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and intercompany transactions. Support the annual audit, tax preparation, and other compliance requirements. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting. Monitor and improve internal controls and accounting processes. Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and company policies. Collaborate with operational departments to resolve accounting-related matters. Train and mentor junior accounting staff as needed. Participate in special projects and process improvement initiatives. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 3-6+ years of progressive accounting experience. Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Experience with account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statement preparation. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Preferred CPA designation or CPA candidate. Experience supporting audits and financial compliance activities. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment. Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel including pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
