You will oversee reconciliations, journal entries, payment processing, and financial controls to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with GAAP and contract requirements. The role drives performance using metrics, supports audits, partners with technology and operations on process improvements, and mentors staff in a culture of accountability, client focus, and continuous improvement. Responsibilities Lead day-to-day accounting service operations for government clients Supervise and mentor accounting staff, setting priorities and monitoring quality Review reconciliations, journal entries, and transaction processing for accuracy Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and client/contract requirements Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and improvement opportunities Develop and refine standard operating procedures and process documentation Collaborate with cross-functional teams on system enhancements and automation Prepare and present operational and financial performance reports to leadership Support audits, respond to inquiries, and maintain thorough documentation Drive continuous improvement initiatives using metrics and data-driven insights Required Skills General Ledger Accounting Account Reconciliation Government/Fund Accounting Financial Reporting Internal Controls & Compliance People Management & Team Leadership Process Improvement/Lean or Six Sigma Basics ERP/Accounting Systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, People Soft) Data Analysis & Excel (pivot tables, lookups) Audit Support & Documentation
