Full-time Job Summary Skymark Roofing, a trusted Central Florida roofing leader with a strong reputation for quality residential and commercial services (including storm damage restoration and insurance work), is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to lead financial operations. As part of Peak Roofing Partners' growing platform, you'll ensure accurate financial reporting, robust internal controls, effective job costing, cash flow management, and strategic support for expansion. This role is ideal for a hands-on finance professional with construction or roofing industry experience who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. Key Responsibilities Oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, job costing, and financial close processes (monthly/quarterly/yearly). Prepare and analyze accurate, timely financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) and management reports to support executive decision-making. Manage job costing and project profitability analysis for roofing installations, repairs, replacements, and insurance claims—ensuring accurate tracking of materials, labor, subcontractors, and overhead allocation. Develop and maintain internal controls, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to minimize risks and improve financial performance. Handle cash flow management, banking relationships, credit facilities, and working capital optimization in a project-based business. Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, construction-specific accounting (e.g., percentage-of-completion if applicable), and Florida licensing/insurance requirements. Coordinate audits, tax preparations, and lender reporting; collaborate with external CPAs and advisors. Lead and mentor accounting staff (or build out the function as the company grows). Partner with operations, sales, and production teams on pricing, estimating accuracy, contract review, and financial impacts of projects. Support strategic initiatives, including integration with Peak Roofing Partners, acquisitions, and growth planning.
Monitor key metrics:
gross margins by job type, overhead control, days sales outstanding (DSO), and overall financial health. Qualifications & Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA strongly preferred). 7+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, with at least 3-5 years in a Senior Accountant or similar role. Prior experience in construction, roofing, home services, or project-based industries (job costing, WIP reporting, and percentage-of-completion accounting highly desired). Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage 300, Foundation, Viewpoint, or similar construction ERP systems); advanced Excel skills required. Strong understanding of Florida construction regulations, insurance claims processes, and sales tax compliance. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; ability to translate financial data into actionable insights for non-finance leaders. High integrity, detail-oriented, and able to handle multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. Preferred Skills Experience with multi-entity or post-acquisition environments. Familiarity with insurance restoration billing and supplement processes. Knowledge of fleet/fuel card management, vendor negotiations, and subcontractor compliance. Why Join Skymark Roofing? Be part of a high-growth platform backed by Peak Roofing Partners. Work with a team that has earned 4.9+ Google ratings and serves Central Florida with integrity. Opportunity to shape financial strategy during an exciting expansion phase. Competitive compensation, benefits, and potential for performance incentives tied to company success.
