Reports To:
Controller / CFO Position Overview Our client is seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant / Assistant Controller to support inventory, cost accounting, and financial reporting within a manufacturing environment. This role will work closely with the Controller to ensure accurate inventory valuation, cost tracking, financial reporting, and overall accounting operations. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable working across both transactional and month-end accounting functions. Key Responsibilities Analyze inventory transactions, costing variances, and inventory reconciliations. Support product costing, inventory valuation, cycle counts, and physical inventories. Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities. Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies related to inventory, AP, AR, and cash. Assist with financial reporting, sales tax filings, 1099 reporting, and other compliance requirements. Partner with operations to improve inventory controls, reporting accuracy, and accounting processes. Provide cross-functional support across core accounting functions as needed. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. 3+ years of accounting experience in a manufacturing, distribution, or inventory-intensive environment. Strong understanding of inventory accounting, cost accounting, inventory valuation, and manufacturing financial processes. Experience researching and resolving complex inventory and transaction issues. Advanced Excel skills, including data analysis, reporting, and reconciliation functions. Strong technical aptitude and experience working with accounting software and reporting tools. Experience supporting cycle counts, physical inventory processes, and inventory controls. This role is well-suited for a Senior Accountant looking to expand their responsibilities and develop into an Assistant Controller position, gaining broad exposure to both day-to-day accounting operations and strategic financial management.
