Full-Time About the Role A leading local property rental and management company in Santa Rosa Beach, FL is seeking a skilled, hands-on Senior Accountant to oversee our financial operations. This position manages full-cycle accounting, property performance reporting, owner payout statements, and payroll for our growing portfolio of vacation and long-term rentals.
Key Responsibilities Full-Cycle Accounting:
Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger management, monthly bank reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closures.
Property & Owner Statements:
Produce accurate monthly financial statements, owner disbursement reports, and trust accounting reconciliations unique to property management.
Tax & Compliance:
Manage local bed tax (tourist development tax) reporting, sales tax compliance, 1099 generation, and assist with year-end tax preparation.
Financial Oversight:
Analyze cash flow, monitor operating expenses, and provide executive leadership with variance analyses and strategic financial insights.
Qualifications Experience:
5+ years of progressive, senior-level accounting or controller experience (Property Management or Hospitality accounting background strongly preferred).
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is a plus, but extensive proven experience in a senior accounting role is highly valued.
Software Proficiency:
Expertise in property management software (e.g., AppFolio, Buildium, Streamline) and standard accounting platforms (QuickBooks, advanced Excel).
Core Competencies:
High attention to detail, strict adherence to trust accounting compliance, and excellent communication skills for collaborating with property owners and leadership.
