Salaried/Exempt Overview St. Martha and St. Mary Bishop Nevins Academy is seeking a full-time School Accountant. The School Accountant supports the Business Manager and Principal and is responsible for the overall accounting operations for the school. Job Responsibilities Maintains accuracy of all financial files and records. Assist in the preparation, administration and review of the budget for the school which is subject to review and/or approval by the Parish and School Finance Council, as required. Oversees accounting services as A/R, A/P, GL, Collections, etc. Manages school tuition system (FACTS), including payment plan, collections and billing Works closely with parents regarding tuition and fee payments. Works closely with Admissions Director to ensure receipt of scholarship information Works in the scholarship portal to ensure all scholarships are entered and appropriate scholarship payments received. Reconciles credit cards and bank statements. Assists with ADP recruitment and onboarding of new hires as needed. Any other duties as assigned by the Business manager or principal.
Requirements:
AA or BS degree in Accounting or Business Administration required. Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar position. Knowledge and experience in QuickBooks and/or Sage. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral. Understands importance of maintaining confidentiality. Able to handle multi-task simultaneously and work independently. Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite (word, power point, excel). Must be able to pass the DOV accounting assessment test. Must be able to pass a level 2 background screening.
