Job Description
Job DescriptionJob Description Overview Join our dynamic finance team as a Staff Accountant and become a vital contributor to our organization's financial health and integrity. In this role, you will be responsible for executing core accounting functions, ensuring compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), and supporting financial reporting processes. Your expertise will help maintain accurate financial records, facilitate audits, and streamline accounting operations across various departments. Duties Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger adjustments to ensure accuracy and completeness. Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and customer billing. Conduct balance sheet reconciliations, analyze account discrepancies, and resolve issues promptly. Support month-end and year-end closing activities by compiling financial data and preparing reports in accordance with GAAP standards. Maintain detailed records of financial transactions using QuickBooks. Participate in assisting with audits by providing required documentation. Perform data entry tasks with high accuracy using 10-key typing skills and double-entry bookkeeping principles. Collaborate with cross-functional teams on budgeting, financial analysis, and account analysis activities to support organizational goals. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; CPA or progress toward CPA preferred. Proven experience in public accounting environments with a strong understanding of GAAP. Familiarity with QuickBooks. Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform account reconciliation and account analysis accurately. Excellent data entry skills with attention to detail; proficiency in double-entry bookkeeping and debits & credits. Ability to interpret financial concepts clearly while maintaining transparency in reporting processes. Effective communication skills for collaborating across departments and supporting audit activities. Demonstrated proficiency in technical accounting areas such as journal entries, balance sheet reconciliation, and general ledger management.
