Job Description
BlueCrest Group has an immediate need for a Staff Bookeeper who loves business and doesn't like being bored doing the same thing every day. This position will work directly with department managers on all areas of financial reporting and budgeting focusing on P&L analysis, balance sheet reconciliation, expense and profit analysis. BlueCrest Group is located in Sarasota and oversees a network of online retail, marketing and manufacturing businesses and assets. We are seeking an experienced accounting professional to perform general accounting work, analysis, reporting and preparation of the organization's financial statements. This position will provide management support to the department managers and assist with overall support and direction for the implementation and management of internal processes and controls. This position will also work closely with our CPA firm to provide data as needed regarding employee W2's and business tax returns but will not be responsible for creating tax returns. Essential Functions Assists with closing the monthly books and preparing P&L's using Quickbooks. Audits and reconciles financial reports. Assists in determining compliance with finance-related laws, rules and regulations. Ensures that financial reports effectively communicate financial information that is understandable, reliable, relevant, timely, consistent, and comparable. Assists in the development of new or revised procedures to simplify and improve operations. Determines, develops and provides detailed accounting records and reports to assist management with financial information for decision making. •The intent of this description is to provide a representative summary of the type of duties and responsibilities that will be required of classifications given this title and shall not be construed as a declaration of the specific duties and responsibilities of any particular position. •Applicant may be required to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this job description. Requirements Accounting Degree or minimum 2 years experience Extensive knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and financial reporting. Ability to research, compile and analyze data and prepare financial reports and statements. Ability to communicate effectively and clearly, both orally and in writing and to prepare accurate financial reports and analyses. Ability to carry out oral and written instructions. Able to be trusted with confidential information and successfully interact with coworkers. Ability to utilize personal computers and various software applications generally using in the accounting profession.
