Senior Accountant at Ledgent Finance & Accounting Senior Accountant at Ledgent Finance & Accounting in Gainesville, Georgia Posted in about 7 hours ago. $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year Position Overview Ledgent Finance & Accounting's client is currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join their team in Georgia. This position requires an individual who thrives in a dynamic environment and is eager to contribute to a range of accounting activities, from month-end close to inventory accounting. Responsibilities Own and support month-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and preparation of accurate financial reporting. Perform balance sheet reconciliations and research reconciling items to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data. Reconcile transactional data between operational systems and accounting systems, investigating and resolving discrepancies as needed. Assist with fixed asset accounting, including asset additions, disposals, and rollforward schedules. Support revenue and profitability analysis through detailed reconciliations and review of financial results. Monitor and maintain the integrity of general ledger activity across multiple operating entities. Collaborate with operations, payroll, and finance teams to resolve accounting issues and improve processes. Support inventory accounting activities, including inventory reconciliations, periodic counts, and understanding inventory flow through WIP and cost accounting processes. Utilize Excel to analyze, reconcile, and manipulate data from multiple systems and reporting sources. Contribute to process improvements and system transition initiatives, including ERP implementation and optimization efforts. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required. 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with exposure to general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and month-end close. Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals, including financial statements, journal entries, and balance sheet account analysis. Experience with ERP systems and intermediate Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and data reconciliation functions; QuickBooks and/or NetSuite experience preferred. Inventory accounting, job costing, manufacturing, construction, or other operational accounting experience required.
