Required We are seeking an experienced General Accountant to support the accounting and financial operations of our manufacturing business. This is not an entry-level bookkeeping position. We are looking for someone who understands how transactions flow through the general ledger, can reconcile accounts, identify errors, prepare journal entries, and help maintain accurate financial records. The ideal candidate will have strong QuickBooks experience , 1-5 years of professional accounting experience , solid accounting fundamentals, and the ability to work independently while communicating effectively with management and operations. Responsibilities Maintain accurate general ledger accounts. Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, adjustments, and reclassifications. Perform bank and credit card reconciliations. Reconcile balance sheet and general ledger accounts. Manage and assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable. Review vendor invoices and properly code expenses. Apply customer payments and research account discrepancies. Assist with monthly and year-end closing. Maintain fixed asset schedules and depreciation records. Reconcile loans and other liability accounts. Assist with inventory accounting and inventory adjustments. Review raw material, work-in-process, and finished goods inventory accounts. Assist with manufacturing and cost accounting. Review financial statements for errors, unusual activity, and inconsistencies. Prepare financial reports and supporting schedules for management. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. Assist with sales tax, 1099s, property tax, and other accounting compliance requirements. Maintain organized and accurate accounting records. Work with outside CPAs, banks, auditors, vendors, and customers as needed. Research and resolve accounting discrepancies. Assist management with improving accounting processes and internal controls. Requirements Hands-on QuickBooks experience is required. 1-5 years of professional accounting experience required. Experience preparing journal entries and performing account reconciliations. Strong understanding of general ledger accounting. Working knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable. Understanding of GAAP and basic financial statement preparation. Strong Microsoft Excel skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to research and correct accounting discrepancies. Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines. Ability to work independently with limited supervision. Professional handling of confidential financial information. Preferred Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Manufacturing accounting experience. Inventory and cost accounting experience. Experience with fixed assets and depreciation. Month-end and year-end closing experience. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. Advanced Excel experience, including PivotTables and lookup formulas. Experience in a manufacturing, lumber, sawmill, construction, distribution, or other inventory-based business. Who We're Looking For We are looking for someone who can do more than data entry. The right candidate should be comfortable reviewing financial information, recognizing when something does not look correct, researching the cause, and making or recommending the appropriate correction. This position will work closely with management and operations, so an understanding of how accounting relates to purchasing, inventory, production, sales, equipment, and cash flow is highly valuable.
