Job Description

Senior Accountant

Permanent

Johns Creek GA 6 Degrees Group One of our clients is looking to hire a Senior Accountant in Johns Creek, GA. This is a great opportunity to join the corporate accounting team of a well-established, privately held manufacturer with operations across the country. You'll dig into general ledger activity for business units, plants, and quarries, partnering with regional controllers and plant leadership to explain the story behind the numbers. Beyond the standard close and reconciliation work, you'll get real exposure to M&A integration, Power BI reporting, and mentoring junior staff accountants. It's a strong fit for someone who's ready to move past routine tasks and take ownership of a broader piece of the accounting function.

Responsibilities:

Review and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual general ledger activity across business units, plants, and quarries, partnering with regional controllers and plant leadership to investigate and correct P&L variances

Perform monthly reconciliations of assigned balance sheet and P&L accounts, keeping a clean audit trail for journal entries and analytical work

Support year-end close, audit schedule prep, and external reporting requests, while partnering with accounting managers on M&A integration work like technical memos and reconciliations

Build financial queries and reports using Power BI and advanced Excel, mentor staff accountants, and drive process improvements across the accounting team

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA license or active CPA track highly preferred

2-4 years of progressive accounting experience, including time at a large corporate entity or a mix of public accounting and large-company corporate accounting

Strong grasp of US GAAP with experience on a large ERP system (JD Edwards a big plus)

Advanced Excel skills (INDEX/MATCH, XLOOKUP) and a self-starter mentality that thrives under deadline pressure
