Williams CPA is seeking a bilingual Accountant with at least two years of experience working in a CPA firm, public accounting firm, bookkeeping firm, or another multi-client accounting environment. This is a hands-on accounting and client-service position. The Accountant will be responsible for completing accounting and tax assignments for a portfolio of business and individual clients under the direction of the Accounting Manager. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, comfortable managing multiple clients and deadlines, and able to communicate professionally in both English and Spanish. Experience limited exclusively to the internal accounting department of a single company will not satisfy the experience requirement for this position. Responsibilities Perform bookkeeping and general ledger accounting for multiple business clients. Prepare bank and credit card reconciliations. Prepare journal entries and adjusting entries. Assist with month-end and year-end accounting procedures. Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules for review by the Accounting Manager. Review client records and supporting documents for accuracy and completeness. Identify discrepancies, missing information, unusual transactions, and potential accounting or tax issues. Communicate accounting discrepancies and unresolved matters promptly to the Accounting Manager. Prepare individual and business federal and state income tax returns based on assigned responsibilities and experience. Assist with payroll, sales tax filings, IRS and state notices, and other accounting and tax projects. Communicate with clients in English and Spanish to request documents, clarify transactions, and follow up on outstanding information. Manage assignments and deadlines for multiple clients simultaneously. Maintain accurate, complete, and organized client files and workpapers. Follow the firm's accounting procedures, documentation requirements, quality standards, and confidentiality policies. Collaborate with the Accounting Manager, other accountants, and administrative staff to complete client work accurately and on time. Required qualifications Professional fluency in English and Spanish. Bachelor's degree in Accounting. At least two years of accounting experience in a CPA firm, public accounting firm, bookkeeping firm, or another multi-client accounting environment. Demonstrated experience managing accounting assignments and deadlines for multiple clients simultaneously. Knowledge of general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, journal entries, adjusting entries, and financial statement preparation. Experience preparing individual and/or business tax returns. Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel. Strong attention to detail, organization, problem-solving, and follow-through. Ability to work independently while following the direction and review process established by the Accounting Manager. Professional written and verbal communication skills. Ability to protect confidential client, financial, tax, and personal information. Current authorization to work in the United States. Preferred qualifications Experience with QuickBooks Desktop. Experience with payroll and sales tax filings. Experience responding to IRS or state tax notices. Experience working directly with small and midsize business owners.
