Medical Staff Accountant (MEDACCT) #KONA_INDEED A well-established local medical organization is seeking a detail-oriented Temporary Staff Accountant to support its finance team for a few months. This is an excellent opportunity to apply your accounting expertise in a professional healthcare environment while contributing to an organization dedicated to serving the community. Hours Full-time, Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm Location Kealakekua, Big Island Pay $33 to $38 an hour, Based on experience Responsibilities Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts and supporting records. Prepare and post recurring, adjusting, and closing journal entries. Analyze financial data and prepare reports for management. Monitor revenues, operating costs, and departmental expenditures. Prepare monthly payroll analysis reports, including productive/non-productive hours and budget-to-actual FTE reporting. Track and report contracted service expenses by department. Assist with budget monitoring and ensure compliance with accounting policies and audit requirements. Maintain accurate financial records while ensuring confidentiality of sensitive information. Participate in departmental meetings and assist with other accounting projects as needed. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred. Previous professional accounting experience required. Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, journal entries, and financial reporting. Experience preparing reconciliations and analyzing financial data. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software. Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines. Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to comply with a pre-employment drug test and State and Federal background check.
