Job Description
Position Summary:
The Sr Accountant will lead the day-to-day accounting operations and monthly financial reporting process. This individual will play a critical role in maintaining the integrity of financial data, supporting internal and external audits, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal standards. Key Responsibilities Lead the preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end and year-end close activities. Ensure the integrity of the general ledger by maintaining accurate and timely accounting records. Assist in the preparation of internal financial statements and board-level financial reporting packages. Support the preparation and timely submission of regulatory filings, including Call Reports, FR Y-9 reports, and other compliance-related documentation. Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy in accounting operations. Provide day-to-day guidance and mentoring to accounting staff; act as a resource for complex transactions and policy interpretation.Key Attributes:
Strong technical accounting knowledge with community banking experience. Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret complex financial data and communicate insights effectively. High attention to detail and commitment to delivering accurate, timely financial information. Effective communicator with the ability to explain financial concepts to both financial and non-financial stakeholders. Self-starter with a proactive mindset and strong problem-solving skills. Able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Exercises sound judgment, discretion, and integrity in handling confidential financial information.Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience within the banking or financial services industry. Strong understanding of GAAP and banking-specific accounting principles. Experience with financial reporting and general ledger management. Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with bank regulatory reporting (Call Reports, FR Y-9, etc.). Experience with Fiserv/DNA.Similar remote jobs
